Introducing Monopoly Here & Now
Hasbro tapped Hunter PR to help create a new game — a contemporary version of the classic game Monopoly. Hunter PR’s idea was to let Monopoly fans vote online to select the U.S. landmarks that would appear on the new Monopoly: Here & Now game board. Early publicity in outlets such as USA Today and Good Morning America, People, Sports Illustrated and Business Week incited retailers to double their orders. By the end of the campaign, the publicity netted over 3,000 individual stories with a total of 458 million media impressions. Most importantly, we were able to make the Monopoly: Here & Now edition the best selling game of the year without cannibalizing sales of the classic Monopoly game.
